How your face shape can Totally Transform Your Look- And How To Style It Right.
At Piper Violet Hair in Twickenham, we know that your haircut and styling choices aren't just about what's on-trend - they're about what flatters you. The way we wear our hair - from the parting to the texture - has a huge impact on how our features are framed. But are we choosing the right styles for our unique face shapes?
Let's break it down.
The oval face shape is often considered the "ideal" because it's symmetrical and balanced - most models tend to fall into this category.
But the goal isn't to force your face into that mould - it's about creating balance and enhancing your natural structure.
Take a look at our styling images with Jo (who is a square face shape) to see how partings, fringes, and waves can completely change the perception of a face shape. Trust us - it's not just about what you call it (bang's or fringe?), it's about how you wear it. (and yes we have banned Jo from EVER getting a full fringe (haaaahaaaaa!!)

Examples of some face shapes, what to avoid, and what to ask your stylist for:

Square: Avoid blunt, straight-across fringes and heavy box layers or bobs - they can create a "lego head" look (professional terminology as usual) . Instead opt for central partings and soft, face framing layers that gently graduate to balance out strong jawlines.
Oblong: More height on top? Not your friend. Volume at the crown will just make face look longer. Go for width instead - think relaxed LA waves, internal texture, and shape through the mid-lenghts to sides.
Heart Face Shape: Too many layers at the chin area can make your chin look more prominent. Instead, add a bit of volume and lift at the crown (hello, subtle "60s vibes!) and go for a soft bardot-style frame that skims cheekbones and balances the face.
2025s Hottest Haircut trend: Layer's on Layer's
Looking for a style refresh? It’s all about volume, movement, and texture in 2025. This year’s must-have haircut trend features face-framing layers and disconnected lengths, paired perfectly with the bouncy blow-dry revival.

Why it's poular:
Add's body and volume to all hair types.
Creates effortless tousled texture that enhances natural movement.
Perfect for a versatile style that works day to night.
